Improv 101: Introductory Improv
Improv 101 is our introductory class and your entry ticket to the world of improvisational theater. Over the course of 4 weeks you will study the basics of modern American improvisational theater comedy. You will play warm-up games that help build trust and develop group mind. You will improvise funny and dramatic sketches that will leave your audience thoroughly entertained and rooting for you. And you will learn how to create engaging scenes with believable characters, telling mesmerizing and hilarious stories, that will make your audience laugh out loud and keep them at the edge of their seats.

Improv 201: Intermediate Improv
Improv 201 is our intermediate improv class. Over the course of 6 weeks you will hone your craft as an improvisational theater actor. You will develop a sharp sense of the game of a scene, and learn how to discover it, play it, and win with the audience. You will learn how to play interesting, and recognizable characters. And you will practice supporting and inspiring your co-stars on stage while developing scenes and stories in exciting and unexpected ways.

Improv 301: Advanced Improv
Improv 301 is our advanced improv class. Over the course of 6 weeks you will learn how to put on a spectacular improv show. You will explore a variety of long-form formats, expanding your repertoire with exciting new ways to structure your performance. You will learn how to improvise hour-long plays from nothing but a title. And you will learn how to play improv in a way that will leave audiences in awe of your comedic genius.

Improv 401: Character and Storytelling
Improv 401 is our most advanced improv class. Over the course of 3 weekends you will study the art of character portrayal and storytelling in improvisational theater. You will learn how to act, react, and emote on stage. You will learn how to create wants, needs, and character arcs that will leave audiences amazed. And you will learn how to construct exciting narratives that elevate your improv to truly fabulous artistic and comedic heights.

Conservatory Performance Training
The American Improv Conservatory is comprised of some of Austria's most talented students of improvisational theater. Upon successful completion of our core curriculum, interested students may audition to join the Conservatory Performance Training and perform together with other students at American Improv Mondays at Aera.
Audition only
Prerequisites: 301 for students who took 101 prior to June 2024 (old curriculum), 401 for students who took 101 in June 2024 or later (new curriculum).
Playground and Two Shows
The American Improv Playground is the perfect place to take a shot at improvising for the very first time. Improvise together with our Conservatory students in a safe space full of supportive people, or sit in the audience and watch others play. It's a great place to meet new people and make friends. No experience required - all are welcome!
Playground ticket holders may stay and watch both American Improv shows taking place on the same night as the Playground free of charge. That's three hours of fun for the price of one!

Workshop: Active Listening for Improv
One of the most crucial skills of improvisational theater actors is active listening. Through listening to our scene partners we allow for their contribution to maximally inform our performance resulting in richer, more dramatic, and more enjoyable interactions on stage. In this workshop you will learn how to capitalize on the input you receive and utilize this input to give a riveting, believable performance that is sure to have audiences come back for more.

Advanced Workshop: Stage Personalities
One of the greatest challenges for any improvisational theater performer is creating memorable, interesting and realistic characters. In this Advanced Workshop you will receive an overview of the scientific state of the art in the modern psychological theory of personality. Based on this knowledge, you will learn how to invent and portray believable characters that the audience will understand, empathize with and root for every time.
